How to call other application from .Net application

Hi All,

There may be some situation while we are do project where we need to call other application from our .net application.

If you want to open a word document from your .net application. Then the below code will helps you to open the word document

System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("winword.exe","c:\test.doc");

Your application will terminate once the word document is opened. Suppose you want to make your application wait for sometime while you work on the document. This can be done with the help of WaitForExit() method of the process.

Syste.Diagnostics.Process p = new System.Diagnostics.Process();

p.Start("winword.doc","c:\test.doc");

p.WaitForExit(2000)

The above code will make your application wait for 20 secs before it terminates.

If you want your application to wait indefinately then don't pass any argument in the WaitForExit() method.

Hope this article will help you.

Thanks and regards,

Kumar
