How to insert identity column into the destination table.

Posted By:Abhisek Panda       Posted Date: February 26, 2010    Points: 10    Category: SQL Query    URL: http://www.dotnetspark.com

This query inserts an identity column to a new table.

INDNTITY(data_type,[seed,increment]) AS column_name

This will insert an identity column into the destination table when used with SELECT INTO.
Example:-

SELECT IDENTITY(int,1,1) AS IDINTO NewTable FROM ExistingTable
