Posted By: Irfad C     Posted Date: November 08, 2009    Points:2   Category :ASP.Net
I need to create a user interface that has to display a set of rows dynamically.
the userinterface is displayed in the form of a table.the first column will show say;the employee names from the employee table and the next three columns should contain textboxes to enter paticulars about the employee and last column contains button to save it to database.the no of rows depends on the present no of employees(which can vary).

Hi irfad--

You can use the Repeater Control with five column. (EmployeeName, textbox1,textbox2,textbox3, Save Button)
Now fetch the data from database and bind it with repeater.
it will create number of rows depending on the number of employee

Set CommandName for save button as "Save" and CommandArgument as '<%# Eval("EmployeID")%>' now on command event of repeater get the values.

onClientClick of Save Button pass the id of the textbox and then save these values into three different hidden field to use on command event.
Set onClientClick of Save Button on Item Data Bound Event.

Thanks & Regards

Irfan,

You can achieve this using GridView. Using TemplateField and EditItemTemplate you can define your grid structure. Use ItemTemplate for Employee name and EditItemTemplate for three textboxs.
