Passing & storing multiple records into database at a time, in ASP.NET application

Posted By: Venkat     Posted Date: October 07, 2009    Points:2   Category :ASP.Net

We have a data table in our ASP.NET application. It is holding 800+ records. Now we need to store all these records into database at a shot by using a SQL Server Stored Procedure.

Would you please let me know the best way to implement it and a reference code sample.

Thank you,

You can use SQL Server Order By Clause to sort data in stored procedure level.

For example

select * from table1 order by column1 desc;

NOTE: you can also use desc keyword also to descending order or asc keyword for ascending (by default asc is the default one)

Hi Venkat,

Best possible solution is to get the XML of the data table and pass the XML to stored procedure.

You can iterate through the XML in stored procedure and then store the records in the table.
