ASP.NET - Making Asynchronous calls to the Server

Posted By: Sruthi Keerthi     Posted Date: September 22, 2009    Points:2   Category :ASP.Net

Good morning.

We are building an ASP.NET website and in that we have one big page having 4 Grid Views. All grids have sorting feature enabled. Now we need to make asynchronous calls to the server for each grid (whenever a user clicks on a column of a grid view to sort) so that it renders fast (instead of full page getting refreshed each time).

Is there a best tutorial or web reference explaining making these asynchronous calls?

Thanks and Regards..
Shruthi Keerthi.

You can use UpdatePanel to make Ajax call to update GridView for sorting for eg

<asp:UpdatePanel id="upgridView" runat="server"><ContentTemplate>
<asp:GridView id="ImportsGridView" runat="server" CssSelectorClass="MainGridView" DataSourceID="ObjectDataSourceImports" Width="80%" SkinID="GridView" AllowPaging="True" AllowSorting="True" AutoGenerateColumns="False" EnableSortingAndPagingCallbacks="false" >

This will upidate gridview async

Mark As Answer if this solve your problem
