I had installed Visual studio 2006 express edition. So I have already SQL server's express edition. Now when I try to install the SQL Server 2005 setup then it generates error. I have choose all the bydefault option when installing the Setup of SQL Server.

The error generates is:

SQL Server Setup failed to obtain system account information for the ASPNET account. To proceed, reinstall the .NET Framework, and then run SQL Server Setup again.

Hi Nehal.

Visual Studio 2006? or Visual studio 2003? To solve the error you are getting you can try like this..

To to Visual Studio Command Prompt (From Start Menu)
than type

aspnet_regiis -i

and press enter

Then run the installer again..This will solve your problem

Hi Nehal,

What Venkat said is the correct approch but...

You are not using Visual Studio Command prompt you are using windows command prompt that's why you are getting this error Please use Visual Studio command prompt or if you want to use windows command prompt than set the path to the root folder of .NET Framework it will be something like this

Than type this command

aspnet_regiis -i and hit enter

Please "Mark As Answer " if this post help you.
