What are the Concepts required in creating a Login Form

I want to create a Login form and registration form so what are the basic concept i have to learn so that I can make that form?

Hi,
The basic field you need is one 2 Textboxes 1 for Username/UderId and 1 for Password.

1) Now you can validate UserName/password using DataBase and check that user Exist or not.

2) You can use Form Authentication to validate to validate user.

3) You can use Windows Authentication etc.

its upto you how can what authentication you need to validate user

How to connect Password Box to database and How to validate it? Where I can Find Easy Tutorials to Learn to connect with database ,creating database and to authenticating databases etc?
