How to avoid cross site scripting

Posted By: SRP     Posted Date: March 01, 2013    Points:5   Category :ASP.Net
when the script tag is entered in textbox the script gets executed, saw couple of posts to use "validaterequest=false" page level, but this will generate exception which will be caught at application_error, I am able to catch the exception while debugging, but when I browse my page the yellow page occurs with exception. My custom exception is not appearing. Any suggestions on this.

Basically you need to use the function htmlspecialchars () whenever you want to output something to the browser that came from the user input.
