The difference between dataset and datareader in ASP.Net.

-Datareader provides forward-only and read-only access to data
-Dataset object can hold more than one table from the same data sources as well as the relationships between them.
-Dataset is a disconnected architecture
-Dataset cab persist contents while datareader cannot persist contents

DataReader works on a Connection oriented architecture while DataSet works on disconnected architecture
DataReader is read only, forword only. Using a Dataset you can move in both direction.DataSet is bi directional.
Updation are not possible with DataReader while Database can be updated
As DataReader is much faster then a DataSet.
DataReader is persistence, Dataset is non persistence.
