Cross OS execution problem

My application is getting installed on windows 7 & windows XP successfully however in windows XP whenever I tried to start my application from desktop shortcut or from program files, application doesn't responds while in while in windows 7 it works smoothly. I am unable to trace out the issue. Kindly share the solution to tackle this problem.

Application is interacting with MS-SQL Server database 2008(Express)
