Hello Priya,

MVP (Microsoft Most Valuable Professional) is an award given by Microsoft to an individual for their contribution towards the community, It could be online(Participating in Forums, Publishing articles, blogs etc) or offline (Conduction Training session in colleges, Companies , Conducting User group sessions etc.).

No, MVP is not Certification its and Award.

Every Quarter MVP is announced Every 1st of January, April, July, and October. And MVP status will be there for 1 year from the date it is announced. Next year you have to Renew by submitting the form again.

More Information about MVP program can be found here.
