hi,
Basic step for Create a Notification icon in the Application
notifyIcon1.Icon = new System.Drawing.Icon ("Give the Icon path");
notifyIcon1.Visible = true;
notifyIcon1.Text = "Application is minimized";
It is an Idea . try this way

AS Per your requirement.you will use 3 Controls.
1)Notifyicon
2)Backgroundworker
3)Timer
Purpose of Controls:
Notify Icon : View Processing status
Backgroundworker: Processing run in the Backgroundworker.
Timer: using backup timing (use notify icon(Backup has been completed) when timer is stopped)
