AJAX is a technique for creating fast and dynamic web pages.
AJAX allows web pages to be updated asynchronously by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes. This means that it is possible to update parts of a web page, without reloading the whole page.
basically Ajax enables you to build highly interactive and responsive web applications by doing more in the browser.
To getting more details about Ajax you can start from there-[http://www.w3schools.com/Ajax/ajax_intro.asp ]
and to know its usage and importance in ASP.net then have a go at given link
http://www.asp.net/ajax/what-is-ajax

apart of it you will get plenty of articles which will focus you on how to use Ajax. so have a go though. and please feel free to revert back with a specific question.
