automatic updation of table

in asp page i have username, password in table which has username,modifiedname.

modifiedname is left blank.

When it display in gridview,modifiedname should be automatically updated.

It should hold the value of username from asp.net web pages

Hi,

You can implement similar code logic.

protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(Object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{

if(e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
e.Row.Cells[2].Text = HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name;
}

}

Hey do google search for gridview insert,update and delete in asp.net

u may find solution

Use timer control to get bind the details in particular timings.

Display the data inside the update panel.

When user click on button.
Again bind grid for changes in database.
If you don't want to postback whole page you can use update panel.

Just set DataSource of grid and then Bind datasource to grid.
