javascript call back run time(onclientclick)

I'm using Gridview Select to stay on there position to using 'div'.
but at a time i want to display on footer control. so i'm using 'window.location.hash()';.But its not working for add button.
Can u explain how to use javascript using server side..

It would be great if you can elaborate further on what exactly you
want to achieve.

thank for your reply,i need the code for asp button not for html .any how
i found the solution

using focus() method

gridview1.FooterRow.FindControl("txtname").focus();
