SQLException: unexpected pre-login response.
February 15, 2011
I just updated the sqljdbc jar file to be used to access our SQLServer2005 and 2008 servers. (Going from
Microsoft 2005 SQL Server JDBC Driver/.../sqljdbc.jar
Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Driver 3.0/.../sqljdbc4.jar
I can connect without issue to the 2005 and 2008 servers.
However when I try to connect to our SQLServer 2000 server I get the following SQL Exception error.
The TCP/IP connection to the host xxx, port 1433 has failed. Error: "The driver received an unexpected pre-login response. Verify the connection properties and check that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port. This driver can be used only with SQL Server 2000 or later."
ANy direction would be most appreciated.
