SQL Server Certification Answer is wrong ?

Posted By: Pandian     Posted Date: February 12, 2011    Points:2   Category :www.DotNetSpark.com
Dear Team

I took SQL Server Certification test in this site now.

One of the answer is WRONG..

"Which Transact-SQL statement is used to restore the backup file from the network shared drive?"

Answer for this question is
"RESTORE DATABASE DBNAME FROM DISK=N'\\Server1\DB_Backup.Bak'"

But, you saying that this is WRONG

May I know how you saying ??

The Remaining statements are used to ONLY verify/validate whether the SQL Engine\system can able to read the .Bak file or not.

"Kindly confirm and take necessary action"

Please clarify, If I am wrong!

I am waiting for your response.

Kindly revisit my test score accordingly...

Cheers

Hello Pandian

Thanks for your feedback .

The 4 answer are for the above questions

1) RESTORE HEADERONLY FROM DISK = N\\Server1\Backup\DB_Backup.bak

2) RESTORE VERIFYONLY FROM DISK = N\\Server1\Backup\DB_Backup.bak

3) RESTORE DATABASE MSDB FROM DISK = N\\Server1\Backup\DB_Backup.bak

4) RESTORE LABELONLYFROM DISK = N\\Server1\Backup\DB_Backup.bak

And the answer is Options 1 among the above list

The answer you have given is not in the list..

Let me know if you feel it need some correction...

Best Regards

Dear Team

I mean, the correct answer for this question is

3) RESTORE DATABASE MSDB FROM DISK = N\\Server1\Backup\DB_Backup.bak

But, not Option 1 , It should be Option 3

The Option 1,2,4 are only for validating the backup file, Not for restore...!

Cheers
