overlapped time cannot be entered in grid view

I have a grid view in which have breaktimeID, starttime, endtime for time i have taken masked edit extender where i can enter time i have done all DML operations,now i have to validate it such that if in firstrow i entered starttime and Endtime as 9:00 to 10:00 then in footer while inserting the time if we give 9:15... 9:45 .. so on
and press insert it should not take that time period,an alert should come , since that time slot is alredy given times in between them cannot be entered, how to acheive in gridview

Hi

Have inserted to db on each DML operations in gridview. If so you can check this using query. Check entered start time is exist between already inserted starttime and endtime, also check endtime is exist between already entered starttime and endtime

select * from tablenaem where <newstarttime> between starttime and endtime OR <endtime> between starttime and endtime.
