I Guess You are working with SqlServer.

Take a BackUp of the Database from your Lical System and Restore to the Remote Server.

Dont Copy MDF or LDF.

Take a Back Up of the Selected Databse from Local Server. Check The Image http://www.targetprocess.com/Images/mssql2005_backup.png

I Hope your Hosting Provider provided you SQL Server Server Name and You Know your Authentication Id.
If not Check with Control Panel you will get it.Use Sql Authentication.

Connect to the Remote Server DB instance through your Local Sqlmanagement Studio.

Once Connceted Restore It by selecting the Database You want.

Hope I am Clear.
