Sql Server connection error

Posted By: arpita     Posted Date: November 29, 2010    Points:2   Category :ASP.Net

I have done a .net based project where the existing data is coming from the database while the user put some data in the text box.If data does not exist ,then it will show an alert.
But when i write some thing in the text box and click on the button I am getting the following error :

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Can anybody please help me!!!

I have used the following connection string :
<add key="con" value="MultipleActiveResultSets=True;server=; database=Daniel;Integrated Security=SSPI; "/>
the error is showing at the time of connection open.
Plesae help!!!

If sqlserver host is a different machine, then the issue might be caused because of your system firewall settings. try out to connect the same database from your system with 'qlserver management studio'.
