In visual studio .Net, VB.NET stands for Visual Basic Dotnet

Visual Basic Dotnet.

Actually, it is nothing but the new and updated form of the earlier VB. This particular language was familiar as Visual Basic (VB) when there was not Dotnet in the market. Another program, namely C#(C-Sharp) which was also in the market and when Dotnet cam to the market then Microsoft took the decision to put all these languages together so that VB developer and C# developers can do work together with a better and robust support with their own domain.
