regarding DropDownList Control help

I heave on DDL control first time i am fetching value from DropDownList by using
ddlStatus.SelectedValue.ToString();//show numeric value whatever in DDL

but second time i want to fetch name of the field i m using

ddlStatus.Text.ToString() from same control but it is showing numeric value of the field whatever in DropDownList and i need name so please help me

I think You want Text particular item of ddl,

if my thinking is correct Use below line to get text item.


ddlStatus.SelectedItem.Text.ToString();

you should use .
ddl.selecteditem.text(); or .value();
