GridView event handler

Posted By: priya     Posted Date: July 26, 2010    Points:2   Category :ASP.Net
I have a Gridview, the first column contains links (say employee Name) when the page is loaded the datadrid is filled.

When i click on any of the first column elements i.e., employee Name it should redirect to another page, which is a search page...
and in that search page i want the Employee ID to be prefilled.. so i am thinking of passing the EmployeeName as the query string so that corresponding ID can retrieved...

But i am stuck with the gridview...which eventhandler to use and how to make the entire column as link elments. and how this can be achieved

Thanks in advance
Priya
